During an episode of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, he expressed frustration with Harris’ remarks, saying she should “just shut up” rather than offer a shallow take on such a serious issue.
Harris had commented on the need for “no reoccupation of Gaza,” maintaining current territorial boundaries, and ensuring security and stability for all in the region. Maher was unimpressed, suggesting that her statements added little value to the conversation. “If that’s all you’ve got to say, don’t say anything at all,” he remarked.
The critique came after Harris made these statements during a high-profile television interview, her first since announcing her presidential campaign. While she emphasized diplomacy and peace as part of her administration’s strategy for the Middle East, Maher accused her of sidestepping the complexities of the situation, labeling her remarks as empty rhetoric.
